Our Building

The Visitor Information Centre is located in the Town Hall at 103 Ford Street, Beechworth.

The Shire building was built in 1877, Town Hall built at the rear in 1859, when the Shire building was demolished and rebuilt in 1889 the Town Hall at the rear was retained, the Hall served as a Court of Petty Sessions, linked by a stair case to the holding cells underneath.
 
Harry Power was tried here in 1863-1864. Harry’s Cell is open to the public from 9am to 5pm, 7 days.
