In Victoria, a prospector or fossicker requires a Miner’s Right which is a permit to prospect for minerals on unreserved Crown Land or private land where the permission of the landowner has been granted.

A Victorian Miners Right is valid for 2 years and can be purchased for $30.60 from the Beechworth Visitor Information Centre. $85.50 for a 10 year license. For more information visit the

Collection includes petrified wood, petrified fern, malachite, minerals, gem stones, opals, crystals, and local stones such as smokey quartz crystal, crystal, garnets & agates.
