The Burke Museum's extensive archive holdings includes newspapers, public records (municipal rate books, court registers, mining registers), church and cemetery records, reference books and directories.

Facilities
The George Briscoe Kerferd Research Room at the Museum is equipped for use by family history researchers. Contains a microfilm reader/printer, adequate desk space and helpful staff in attendance if you require assistance with your research.
 
Fee Scale
-Preliminary Search Fee $10.00 per search. Search includes:
-Assessment and advice on research direction
-Database search
-Biographical, postal and street directories
-Electoral Rolls
-Local Histories

 

-No charge for the use of Public Records.

-Microfilm Reader - a charge of $5.70 per hour or part thereof applies (plus copying fees 50 cents per page)

-Research conducted on your behalf by a member of staff - $35.00 per hour.

 
 
Location
The Burke Museum is located in Loch Street, Beechworth (next to the Town Hall Gardens). The Museum is open daily (except Christmas Day) from 10.00am-5.00pm.
