The Beechworth Family Album 2014

The Beechworth Family Album 2014

In 1984, 1994 and 2004 Beechworth Arts Council  auspiced photographic projects known as the Beechworth Family Album. After extensive community exhibition each project was archived in the Burke Museum in  Beechworth.

The photographic projects are underway with four exhibitions planned as part of the Beechworth Family Album 2014.

The fourth Beechworth Family Album has begun and funding from Public Records Victoria has assisted with the development and of a Postcard from Beechworth Heritage Trail which is a celebration of community, documenting a time and place in history.

It will produce a ‘store’ of contemporary photographs and there will be four exhibitions beginning in August.

A selection of the photographer’s images will be reproduced as series of ten photographic postcards to be printed and distributed free to the community and visitors, they may be posted making a heritage trail around the globe.

A photo book of past and present Beechworth Family Album photographs 1984-2014 will be printed and available for sale later in the year

Work, Rest, Play.

Community Coordinators Gail Smith and Bruce Forrest are in charge of the collection of photographic images of Beechworth’s traders, sports groups, clubs, service groups etc. and families, couples and single people who are established residents, as well as families, couples and singles who are newly established in Beechworth.

The launch will be on Friday 14th November, at 6pm in the Beechworth Town Hall, Ford Street.
