Beechworth Music Festival

A day and night of music, good safe times, free camping and a complete sensory overload!

Join us for a diverse range of alternative music, acts and artists to allow you to indulge in the soundtrack of this weekend. Independence with a good dose of attitude mixes up the musical smorgasbord to unlock, soothe and shake up your senses. We aim to give you – a chance to wind down – connect to the environment and the local community – a new sense of freedom – time and space – the company of good friends – and above all, unparalleled enjoyment of great music and a chance to be part of some great new traditions at the very first BMF.

The first Beechworth Music Festival will be held on May 10, 2014 in the beautiful rolling hills of the former Mayday Hills Lunatic Asylum (now decommissioned – PHEW!) farm on the edge of Beechworth. The stage is set at the bottom of the new outdoor grassed Madman’s Gully Amphitheatre with mountain views in the background and tree shaded fence lines.

We want to start this festival off on the right footing by operating with some carefully thought out ideals that provide a range of great benefits for all involved, from providing opportunities for young and upcoming local and regional bands who get to play alongside some established and experienced Melbourne performers, involvement by local community and business organisations, promoting the local and regional areas, operating ethically and above all providing some great alternative music and entertainment for our fans.

As well as a great night of entertainment we will also choose a local cause or charity to support and donate to each year. This year we are helping a young Beechworth family who have been affected by a serious and life threatening illness that, apart from all the emotional stress, has also severely affected their family income. We will be donating 5% of the profits of our festival as direct financial support for the family. So join us and pledge your support for this great new event. We invite your business or community organisation to become involved and enjoy the benefits that this great new festival can bring to the town for years to come.

We have been fortunate to secure a terrific line up of local, regional and Melbourne artists for the first BMF including The Bennies, DD Dumbo, Teeth & Tongue, My Left Boot, Sungod Replica, Chris Russell’s Chicken Walk, BATPISS, The Hounds Homebound, The Rubber Band, Bennie Williams, Liv CarTledge, Triple R DJ Luke Pocock and Geoff Jackson of The Bastards from the Bush.
