In 1880, the people of Beechworth crowded into the Courthouse to hear the magistrate pronounce that Ned Kelly should stand trial for the murder of police constable Thomas Lonigan.

THE COUNTDOWN BEGINS

In three weeks, the new Kelly Trials Exhibition opens at the historic Beechworth Courthouse.

The exhibition explores the role of the Beechworth Courthouse in more than 40 trials and hearings during the Kelly Outbreak of 1878 - 1880.

After months of hard work and dedication, we're thrilled to announce that the installation of the brand-new Kelly Trials Exhibition at the Beechworth Courthouse is almost complete.

Following the successful completion of asbestos removal works in December, the team at the Beechworth Historic Precinct have been busy preparing to bring you an immersive exhibition that delves into the gripping stories of the Beechworth Courthouse's pivotal role in the trials and hearings of the Kelly Gang.
