Historic & Cultural Precinct Ford Street
In November 1855, Daniel Cameron, representing the Ovens electorate, triumphantly rode a horse shod with gold horseshoes through the main streets of Beechworth.
When not in use, the golden horseshoes can be viewed at Beechworth Gold, cnr Camp & Ford Streets
12.30pm: Home among the Gum Trees: - Ford Street
1pm: The Grand Parade – Ford Street
Daniel Cameron’s famous ride through town will be re-enacted once more as the horse with the golden shoes leads the Grand Parade Featuring dozens of colourful, historical floats with entries all vying for the Beechworth Bakery Parade Trophy.
2009 winner was Beechworth Ghost Tours -“Ghost Busters” will hand over to this year’s winner in the roundabout at approx: 2.15 pm
After the parade join Lazy Harry along the parade route for Beechworth first attempt at the longest line of people performing Home among the Gum Trees with all the actions come on, all together now.
10am – 4pm: Camp Street Food Court
